Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that works to provide healthcare coverage to individuals in need based on their current financial needs. As with other health insurance programs, if Medicaid issues payment for treatment for situations involving a third-party recovery, Medicaid is entitled to assert a lien against said recovery.
